Hello and welcome to Alaska's Kids!! My name is Jamie Robinson and I started this site in July 2009. I am a stay
at home mom of two wonderful kids, Kaden and Brooke. I love being a mom but as we moms know it can cause wear and tear! Being
stuck in the house with kids, cleaning, changing diapers, not being able to use the bathroom without someone asking "what
are you doing," figuring out what to make for dinner, wrestling with kids for an hour to go to bed, and then realizing
you forgot to either take a shower, brush your teeth, eat or all of the above, can wear a mom out! And that is just on Monday!
I wanted to start a site where moms could connect with other moms right here in Alaska. Sure its great joining a moms
group with moms all over the US, but how can they come play when they are on the East Coast? How can a mom in Hawaii understand
what it is like being in the house in the winter with a baby!
I also wanted a site where I could go to that informs
me of all the things to do for toddlers and babies. I noticed I would spend hours going site to site just looking up times,
locations, etc. Well you know how that goes with kids! There went my whole day....on the computer! I hope this is a
one stop so you can spend more time with the kids or cleaning! =)
Most parents can't take a road trip to see
Grandma because she lives in the lower 48. This site is meant to build a support system for those moms and dads to connect.
If there is anything else you would like to see on this site please let me know!
This site is also meant for parents
visiting Alaska with little ones. The tourist guides are not geared towards preschoolers and under. Alaska is a huge playground
and I hope you enjoy the sights instead of staying in the hotel because you couldn't find anything for your tot to do.
I hope you enjoy the site and find it very useful! Please sign my guestbook and leave comments on how to better the
site!
